I took them home, wore Sheer Pink Lust for several hours that night, and then in fact went to bed without removing it. I was astounded to wake up the next morning and find my lips in better shape than they were the night before (my chronically dry lips are usually chapped and peeling in the mornings). So then I wore Sheer Melon all day, touching up as needed, and after 12 hours of consistent wear time found my lips still looked and felt excellent. Here you can see both on me:

My assessment is that I couldn't agree more with what I read: they look and feel like Lip Chics to me and are just as moisturizing. YAY! Another formula to love, and this one at such a great price point! So, and this should surprise no one, I bought the rest of the shades my Target had (which was the entire line, except for a fuchsia color that apparently hasn't made it to my area yet). Check them out!
From left to right, we have Sheer Seashell (say THAT ten times fast!), Sheer Pink Lust, Sheer Mauve, Sheer Juicy Coral, Sheer Melon, Sheer Berry, Sheer Rouge, and Sheer Plum:

Yum. I honestly think Sheer Seashell is the only one in this range that isn't flattering on me, and even then I might be able to wear it - you guessed it - sheerly. Ahahahaha, I crack myself up. Really though, I'll probably beg them to let me exchange it for the fuchsia one when they get it in stock, because I'm sure I'll love that one too!
In short, I can't rave about these enough. They feel GREAT on my lips and I think they look great, too, if I do say so myself. I can easily see myself using some of these colors all the way up and needing to repurchase... they're that good. Better yet, I can repurchase guilt-free since they aren't $35 each like Lip Chics and Guerlain Rouge Automatiques!
These are brand new and may not be in all Target stores yet, but if they're not at yours, I'm sure they will be soon! Happy hunting, readers!

Both of the shades you're wearing look fantastic on you!!! And I'm so excited that this is a dupe for much more expensive product, and that they made your lips feel so good. I'm definitely going to have to go to Target now (I don't usually like buying makeup there either, but I'm pretty sure I need at least one of these...)
ReplyDeleteThanks dear! I hesitate to call it a "dupe" because formulas affect people in different ways, but on ME, they definitely feel comparable - I've tried many lipstick lines and the Shine Luxes do feel *more* like Lip Chics to me than any other lipsticks I've tried.
DeleteWhich shade(s) are you eyeing? And Marilyn, if you see the Fuchsia color would you mind picking up one and sending it to me? I can PayPal you for it :-*
You crack me up too. haha. You could probably wear it by putting it on one lip, another color on the other and smooshing. I do that a lot, plus it doesn't mess up either of the tubes.

What a good idea! I don't know why I don't do that more. Thanks, I will try it. :)
DeleteI picked up the Seashell and the Mauve last night, whoa...you're not kidding about the Chantecaille comparison! I rarely buy drugstore lipsticks, but these will be the exception. Thank you for the swatches. The two colors you are wearing look great on you!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you like them too! I'm the same way - have been gradually moving away from purchasing drugstore and toward higher-end because I find I consistently have better luck with quality when it comes to high end products. And I usually prefer their packaging, too. But the Shine Luxe lipsticks are a huge winner in my book, regardless!
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteDo any of these have shimmer?
Hi Amanda!
DeleteFrom the color drops on the ends of the tubes it looks like Sheer Seashell, Sheer Melon, and Sheer Juicy Coral have slight shimmer, but believe me, any that is there is VERY subtle. I don't see it at all when I swatch or wear them, or if I do, it only has the effect of adding a bit of extra shine - no visible sparkle at all.
