Chantecaille Amour Lip Chic: Swatches, Review, and FOTD

As I've said before, Chantecaille Lip Chics are one of my very favorite lipstick formulas. Chantecaille recently released two new shades, Amour and Isis; I'm not sure if they're limited edition or additions to the permanent line. Isis looked too dark for my taste, so I haven't bought that (though I reserve the right to later on!) but I knew Amour would be a must-have for me based on its description alone, a "soft rosy pink," so I bought it without even testing it first! As I expected, I love it. (To see the shades I've already swatched, click here.)

On the left is one swipe; on the right, the color is built up a bit more.

Here it is on my lips:

And, since I recently promised a certain reader a FOTD using Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense #28 (swatched here), here is the rest of the look I did. You may notice that this is the FOTD I posted at the end of my brow tinting tutorial:

Full product breakdown:

Lighter shade of Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Ash Blonde to lightly fill in newly tinted brows
Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense #28 on lids, crease, and lower lash line
MAC Blanc Type to highlight, Copperplate to blend the crease out a bit, and Typographic to lightly darken the upper lash line
MAC Blacktrack to tightline
CoverGirl Lash Blast Waterproof on lashes
Lancome Effacernes concealer in Light Buff under eyes
Benefit Powderflauge to set undereye concealer
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light on face (no other foundation)
Tarte Passion Amazonian Clay blush on cheeks
NYX Taupe as contour
Guerlain Cruel Gardenia to highlight cheekbones and center line of face
Chantecaille Amour Lip Chic on lips

Disclaimer: I purchased the product(s) featured in this post myself.

  1. Great blog, thanks! I am late to the game, but just found the Chantecaille Lip Chics and loving the formulation. Question for you: do you find amour and daphne to be pretty close in color? What are the differences? Thanks!

    1. Thanks!

On someone with very pigmented lips, they could be similar, but with lips with very pale pigmentation like mine, they are distinctly different. If you search the blog for Chantecaille Daphne you can also see a picture of that on me to compare. In general though, I'd call Daphne a pale pinky-peach on me, while Amour is more of a medium rose.
